Who We Are
Meet Dr. Merritt
Most chiropractors treat pain. I treat the movement problem behind it. My background isn't typical for a sports chiropractic practice. I studied kinesiology at Penn State, then earned a Master's in Biomechanics from the University of Georgia — where my research focused on movement mechanics, performance, and how the body loads, compensates, and eventually breaks down. I brought that foundation into clinical training at Life University, where I completed my Doctor of Chiropractic degree.
That combination — research-grade movement science and hands-on clinical care — is what shapes how I evaluate every athlete who walks in.
Over the years I've worked with athletes at every level: youth, collegiate, professional, and recreational. My research has touched golf swing biomechanics, injury dynamics, and concussion-related balance. That context matters, because no two athletes present the same way — and no two treatment plans should either.
At Ascend, the work is straightforward: reduce pain, restore movement, rebuild capacity, and send you back to your sport with a plan that actually makes sense for your body.
